About

Lori Lipsky is an American writer living with her husband on an acreage in southern Wisconsin. Her most recent book, Trips to Town, is a Great Depression and World War II era memoir. She wrote the book after interviewing her dad for several years about his growing-up days in Iowa. Writing the book gave Lori a greater appreciation of her dad, her ancestors, and her Iowa roots.

In addition, Lori is the author of the books Turquoise Parade: Stories and Used Cookie Sheets: Very Short Stories, both collections of her short fiction stories.

Lori is also contributing author to the books Live & Learn Snapshots of Hope & Heart, and Wit, Whimsy & Wisdom. Her short fiction stories and poems have appeared in a dozens of publications. She holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

When Lori isn’t writing or teaching, she loves to read and spend time with friends and family. She is an enthusiastic audiobook fan, and has been a member of the same book club and local writing group for over a decade. When she visits her dad each week they try to outperform one other as they compete at games like Rummikub, Five Crowns, dominoes, and pinochle.
